 Orpheus and Eurydice 

The second in our opera series was 
Gluck's magnificent version of  the ancient Greek story of Orpheus, 
who travels to the underworld in search of his love, Eurydice.

It included the heart-stopping aria   What is life to me without thee?   
and the enchanting Dance of the Blessed Spirits
